Police Predators

Welcome to Police Predators, a side project that documents child sexual abuse by law enforcement officers. Every month, I’ll be doing a roundup of all the stories I could find about cops that were charged with, convicted of, and/or sentenced for their crimes against minors.

Sean Mahony, a former Suffolk County, New York, police officer, was arrested and charged with 1 count of child sex abuse and 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The allegations were brought by the victim's mother. Original story here.

Anthony Pagan, an Ohio State Trooper, was arrested and charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. Pagan allegedly admitted to downloading child sexual abuse materials. Original story here.

Brock England, a former Enid, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas, police officer, was found guilty of 1 count of child sex abuse with a child under 12 and 2 counts of lewd molestation. He faces up to 100 years in prison. Original story here.

Shane Grundstrom, a former Church Point, Louisiana, police officer, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of molestation of a juvenile. Grundstrom resigned from the department via text message less than two weeks before his arrest. Original story here.

Gerardo Mejia, a former Pueblo, Colorado, police officer, was arrested and charged with sexual exploitation of a child. Mejia resigned from his position shortly after his arrest. Original story here.

Brian DiBiasi, a Hamilton Township, New Jersey, police officer, was arrested and charged with causing or permitting a child to engage in a sexual act that may be photographed, filmed or reproduced; engaging in sexual conduct that would debauch the morals of a child; possessing fewer than 1,000 images of child sexual abuse; distributing images of child sexual abuse; and possessing images of child sexual abuse with the intent to distribute. DiBiasi allegedly conspired with his wife, Elizabeth, to commit these crimes against children. Elizabeth DiBiasi is also a member of law enforcement.

Elizabeth DiBiasi, a former Mercer County, New Jersey, sheriff's sergeant, was arrested and charged with engaging in sexual conduct that would debauch the morals of a child. Original story here.

Paul Leo Mumford, a former Tampa, Florida, police sergeant, was found guilty of 100 charges of possession of child sexual abuse materials. Mumford also had more than 60 word documents that contained sexually explicit stories involving minors, with one being more than 500 pages long. Mumford was the head of the sex crimes division in Tampa for 18 months. He now faces a sentence of up to 1500 years. Original story here.
