Welcome to Police Predators, a side project that documents child sexual abuse by law enforcement officers. Every month, I’ll be doing a roundup of all the stories I could find about cops that were charged with, convicted of, and/or sentenced for their crimes against minors.
Gabriel Crombie, a former school resource officer in Northfield, Minnesota, was arrested and charged with aiding an offender and gross misdemeanor misconduct of a public officer/employee. Crombie allegedly covered up sexual misconduct by Katie Hanson, a teacher at the school. Multiple students reported her to Crombie for sending sexually explicit photos to them, but Crombie didn't take any reports and said he didn't believe the students. The same day Crombie told Hanson he would "let it go," they began a romantic relationship. Hanson is accused of victimizing at least 6 students, the youngest of whom was 15 years old. Original story here.
Linwood Barnhill, a former Washington, D.C., police officer and registered sex offender, was again arrested and charged with sex trafficking, fraud, and racketeering. Barnhill allegedly recruited multiple minors for commercial sex acts, acting as a pimp. In 2014, Barnhill pleaded guilty to two counts of pandering of a minor and one count of possession of child pornography. Original story here.
Benjamin Dalsing, a former corrections officer in Dubuque, Iowa, was arrested and charged with 1 count of sexual exploitation of a minor and 11 counts of purchase/possession of depiction of a minor in a sex act. Dalsing is alleged to have offered child sexual abuse materials for trade on Kik and Telegram, including photos of a high school acquaintance from when she was a child. Dalsing resigned amid the investigation. He is the son of the former Dubuque police chief. Original story here.

Verduzco allegedly maintained a relationship with a 15-year-old girl, sending her sexually explicit messages and photos via Snapchat, including while he was in uniform and on duty. He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison. Original story here.
Marc Lugo, a Bakersfield, California, police officer, was arrested and charged with contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, possession of obscene material depicting a minor, and use or possession of obscene sexual material involving a minor.
