Welcome to Police Predators, a side project that documents child sexual abuse by law enforcement officers. Every month, I’ll be doing a roundup of all the stories I could find about cops that were charged with, convicted of, and/or sentenced for their crimes against minors.
Aaron Bunch, a police sergeant in Aurora, Colorado, was arrested and charged with crimes related to child sexual abuse. Bunch was in a supervisory role where he oversaw school resource officers. Original story here.
Thomas William Robinson, a former deputy chief in Reno, Nevada, was arrested and charged in relation to soliciting a 17-year-old child for prostitution and attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation. Robinson was caught in a sting operation that ensnared 12 other alleged pedophiles. Original story here.
Timothy Jaekel, a police officer in Lincoln, California, was arraigned on charges related to the sexual abuse of 4 family members when they were minors. The alleged victims range in age between 8 and 16 years old. Original story here.
Joshua Garcia, a former police officer in Del Rio, Texas, was indicted on charges of sexual assault of a child, possession of child pornography, possession of lewd material involving a child, and official oppression. Garcia allegedly maintained a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and possessed explicit images of her on his phone. Original story here.
Stephen E. Walker, a former corrections officer and Board of Public Safety member in Bloomington, Indiana, was arrested and charged with possession of child sexual abuse materials. Walker allegedly communicated with a man who shared nude photos of his 13-year-old stepdaughter. Original story here.
