A roundup of police predators

Welcome to Police Predators, a side project that documents child sexual abuse by law enforcement officers. Every month, I’ll be doing a roundup of all the stories I could find about cops that were charged with, convicted of, and/or sentenced for their crimes against minors.

Kamal Bola, an Indianapolis, Indiana police officer, was arrested and charged with three counts of child molestation and one count of public voyeurism. Bola has been suspended and has been recommended for termination. He is the fifth member of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to be charged with sex crimes this year. Original story here.

Patrick Hoder, a former Hancock County, West Virginia sheriff's deputy, was arrested and charged with one count of distribution or exhibition of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Hoder is accused of having over 600 files of child sexual abuse material. He was the department's representative for Shop With a Cop, a program that matches underprivileged youth with police officers to shop for school supplies and other necessities. Hoder was terminated from his position following the charges. Original story here.

Allen Charles, a campus police officer at Butte College in Oroville, California, was arrested and charged with one count of possession of child sexual abuse materials and one count of distribution of child sexual abuse materials. Charles was placed on leave, and his police powers were suspended following his arrest. Original story here.

James Bond, a former Gary, Indiana police chief, was arrested and charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and receiving and possessing child sexual abuse materials. Bond allegedly coerced a minor while working in the Summer Youth Employment Program with Gary PD. Original story here.

Jon Foreman, a Milwaukie, Oregon police sergeant, was placed on paid administrative leave due to an investigation related to child sexual abuse materials. Details are scarce, and no criminal charges have been filed. Original story here.

Arthur Cocherell, a former Pocahontas, Arkansas police officer, was arrested and charged with possession of child sexual abuse materials. He was terminated during the investigation. Original story here.

Charles Crothers, a Rockwood, Tennessee detective, was arrested and charged with attempted incitement of a child and attempted production of child sexual abuse materials. Crothers was suspended from duty and entered a not guilty plea. Original story here.

Javed Richards, a former Indianapolis, Indiana sergeant, was arrested and charged with 12 counts of child exploitation. Richards worked at the department for over a decade and was part of the Internal Affairs Unit. He is alleged to have shared multiple images of child sexual abuse. Richards was suspended and recommended for termination. Original story here.

Jacob Pullen, a former New Braunfels, Texas police officer, was found guilty of seven counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials. Pullen faced up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, though jurors recommended six years of probation and the judge obliged. Original story here.

Daniel Rojas, a former Phoenix, Arizona communications officer, was arrested and charged with six counts of child exploitation. Rojas was fired, and there are more potential counts coming against him. Original story here.

Casey R. Medina, a former Avon, New York police trainee, was arrested and charged with conspiracy, aggravated harassment, third-degree stalking, and promoting a sexual performance by a child. Medina only completed three days of training before being fired and charged. Original story here.
